THIS WEEK: Mercury takes Holsten chief to boost ad image

Joanne Spinks, the marketer who masterminded the pounds 14.5m relaunch of Holsten Pils, has been recruited by Mercury Communications to strengthen its advertising.

of Holsten Pils, has been recruited by Mercury Communications to

strengthen its advertising.



She will join the telecoms firm in November in the new role of

advertising manager. She will work for marketing services manager

Dominic Owens and will be involved in the development of a pre-Christmas

ad campaign.



Mercury’s recent Oliver and Claire ad campaign, now being dropped, was

roundly criticised.



Howell Henry Chaldecott Lury & Partners insists its hold on the pounds

5m ad account is safe. This week it presented new creative work to

Mercury marketing director Simon Esberger.



As marketing manager at Holsten Pils, Spinks oversaw the reformulation

and repackaging of the beer and worked on the ‘Get Real’ ads.
