The Week: Miron leaves Mail on Sunday to oversee Global/GCap

Stephen Miron, the managing director of The Mail on Sunday and Mail Online, is leaving to become Global Radio's chief executive.

Miron will run the combined Global/GCap radio group, reporting to the Global founder and group chief executive, Ashley Tabor.

He will work alongside the Global executive director, Richard Park, who moves to the position of group executive director, with the added role of director of broadcasting. The global chief operating officer, Don Thomson, takes on the same role across Global's expanded radio division; the chief financial officer, Michael Connole, becomes the chief financial officer for radio.

The moves come after the Office of Fair Trading cleared Global's £375 million takeover of GCap on 8 August.

Miron, who first joined Associated Newspapers in 1988, oversaw the high-profile giveaway of Prince's latest album with The Mail on Sunday last year.
