Molson is courting controversy, with new ads through FCB which break
this week as part of a pounds 2m push for the brand. It uses an Eric
Cantona lookalike to recreate the Manchester United striker’s attack on
a crowd member. Although the crowd is made up of actors to avoid any
mention of any other sponsors, the player is clearly intended to look
like Cantona, and wears Manchester United’s colours. The ads use the new
catchline for Molson ‘A Molson moment in a sea of madness’.
