The Week: Nicola Mendelsohn unveiled as Karmarama chairman

Nicola Mendelsohn, the former deputy chairman at Grey, is joining Karmarama as the chairman and an equity partner. Her appointment completes Karmarama's management line-up, which has lacked a fourth partner since the departure of Naresh Ramchandani in November 2005.

Mendelsohn will take equity in the company alongside the creative partner, Dave Buonaguidi, the planning partner, Sid McGrath, and the managing partner, Ben Bilboul. Mendelsohn, who announced her departure from Grey last week, is due to start in April. Her responsibilities will include overseeing the agency's new-business portfolio and raising the profile of Karmarama's new group structure, which includes a digital arm and the recently launched content production unit, K Broadcast.

Bilboul said: "Nicola is the most connected woman in advertising. She will bring boundless energy and experience to Karmarama."
