Almost 60 per cent of the media group's shareholders backed their board in rejecting Bollore's candidates, Philippe Germond and Roger Hatchuel, at last week's annual meeting.
Aegis also announced that the group was on track to outperform the market this financial year on the back of a strong new-business performance, a bigger presence in emerging markets and the growth of its digital services.
The media buying, digital marketing and market research group reported first-quarter organic revenue growth of 8.5 per cent since 2006. The group's organic growth was 7.7 per cent in 2006. Aegis added that it had started 2007 well and saw healthy prospects for both the advertising and market research industries.
