The Week: People news - Fry set to succeed Bowdler

John Fry, the chief executive of Archant, is expected to replace Tim Bowdler, the chief executive of its Edinburgh-based rival Johnston Press, next year.

Johnston Press, which publishes more than 300 titles, including The Scotsman, is set to appoint Fry to tackle declining advertising revenue and expand its online offerings. Bowder announced earlier this year that he would resign from his current post. It is expected that he will officially step down in May at the company's annual meeting.
