Ralph Bernard, the chief executive of GCap Media, is to step down from the role after 25 years, but will stay with the company as chairman of Classic FM.
Bernard said it was "time for a new chief executive to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead". Fru Hazlitt, the former Virgin Radio chief executive poached by GCap in January to be managing director of its London stations, is being tipped as his likely successor.
