The Week: People News - O2 to cut marketing staff

O2 is set to cut 10 per cent of its 235-strong marketing team as it merges its mobile contract and pay-as-you-go teams into one division.

Sally Cowdry, the marketing director, will centralise planning into the CRM team so as to improve customer communications. O2 is also combining its mobile broadband and home broadband teams, but will retain Be Broadband as a separate brand.
