The Week: People news - Sorrell and Levy's Davos row

Sir Martin Sorrell and Maurice Levy, the respective chiefs of WPP and Publicis Groupe, indulged in some verbal sparring at the World Economic Forum in Davos last week.

Commenting on the recently announced partnership between Publicis and Google, Sorrell said: "Next time I meet with Eric Schmidt (the Google chief executive), I think we'll send out a press release. This morning I met with Maurice Levy, does this mean we're putting out a joint venture?" Levy retorted: "I'm sorry Martin said that ... it's really cheap, but it's probably the result of his lack of understanding of technology."
