The Week: People News - Tory backs licence fee deal

Jeremy Hunt, the shadow culture secretary, has dismissed the idea of scrapping the BBC's licence fee agreement, stating that, by doing so, the corporation's impartiality could be threatened.

Hunt said that the BBC should not work with fear of its funding level being reviewed on a year-by-year basis, as this would make it less likely to impose impartiality or hold politicians to account.
