The Week: People News - Whitton bids farewell to BA

Katherine Whitton, British Airways' head of marketing communications, has resigned from her role and is one of 450 senior managers to opt for voluntary redundancy as the airline cuts costs after the difficult opening of Heathrow's Terminal 5 earlier in the year.

Whitton joined BA from American Express in May 2005, replacing Jayne O'Brien. During her time at BA, she oversaw the appointment of OgilvyOne to the airline's global direct marketing business.
