The Week: People news - WPP hires Digitas' Boone

WPP Group has hired Torrence Boone as the chief executive of Project Da Vinci, the new global agency that will handle the worldwide Dell account.

Boone will be based in New York, reporting to Sir Martin Sorrell, the chief executive of WPP. Boone was previously the president of Digitas Boston and a vice-president and general manager for Avenue A. According to US reports, Project Da Vinci is likely to be permanently named Synarchy, which has Greek roots and means "joint rule or sovereignty".
