The Week: Publicis Groupe wins £100m HP EMEA advertising brief

Publicis Groupe has won the estimated £100 million EMEA advertising and digital account for HP's Personal Systems Group - its PC and laptop division.

The network picked up the business following a pitch against BBDO, Y&R and McCann Erickson, the incumbent on the account. Its contract will begin on 1 July.

Saatchi & Saatchi Geneva will handle the advertising business, which will mainly involve converting campaigns from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, the company's agency in the US, to suit European markets. Publicis Modem will work on the digital aspect of the business and create all HP's digital campaigns across EMEA.

Richard Pinder, the chief operating officer of Publicis Worldwide, who led the pitch alongside Pedro Simko, the chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi Geneva, said: "The Personal Systems Group sees digital advertising as a brand-building opportunity, not a promotional tool. It's a huge opportunity."
