The Week: VCCP retains £20m business

VCCP has retained the £20 million ad account for the price comparison website The agency picked up the business following a final pitch against Beattie McGuinness Bungay, handled by the AAR.

The account came up for review in September. The company claims it called the pitch so it could "examine its creative options in an increasingly competitive environment".

It is now expected to increase its emphasis on advertising in an economic climate that is seeing more people use price comparison sites to hunt for the best deals online.

Mark Vile, the marketing director for, said: "We are delighted that VCCP continued to demonstrate what we considered to be the best understanding of our marketplace. We are now very confident of maintaining and furthering our presence as one of the leading UK price comparison sites."
