- US bank Wells Fargo has consolidated its $40 million (£24.6 million) account with DDB Los Angeles following a two-way pitch against Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis.
The consolidation follows the merger in November of Wells Fargo, for which DDB was the agency of record, with the Northwest Corporation, which had worked with Carmichael Lynch since 1991.
DDB's first task will be advertising and marketing the change of Norwest banks in 16 states to Wells Fargo. However, Carmichael Lynch will continue to handle Norwest Banks in Minnesota.
Cindy Gray, executive vice president for marketing, at Wells Fargo, said: "We look forward to working with DDB to take full advantage of this name change opportunity in our former Norwest banking states."
Norwest and Wells Fargo officially merged last November 2. Since then the new company has been following a two-year plan to integrate systems and change the Norwest name to Wells Fargo.
