In its Super Bowl debut, Wendy’s offers viewers an inside look at imaginary burger competitor Othr Guyz. The chain specializes in Freezy Diskz frozen beef patties, here arrayed in unappealing stacks deep within a sub-zero vault. The 30-second spot from VML ends by directing viewers to the Othr Guyz website, a thorough satire that includes the original fake infomercial Wendy’s used to introduce its rival last year. While Wendy’s has never used frozen beef in its burgers, unlike some other burger chains, studies by the brand show most consumers aren’t aware of the fact.
