Whirlpool to host experiential launderette with Meredith O'Shaughnessy

Home appliance brand Whirlpool has teamed up with event planner Meredith O'Shaughnessy to launch an launderette bar experience, named Dirty Laundry.

Opening on 23 June for five nights in central London, the activation will feature specially-modified Whirlpool washing machines that have been created to tumble and mix cocktails. The drinks will be served in retro fabric detergent bottles.

Guests will be encouraged to air their confessions at the event series, with the aim of stepping away 'laundry fresh' at the end of the night. Secrets will be revealed to the pop-up's launderette host, Signorina Bubbles, who will be joined by flirtatious pizza delivery boy Marco.

The space has been designed to reflect an Italian-American, La Dolce Vita-style setting. New York cuisine such as pizza and Italian aperitivo will be on offer, alongside Italian beer, Campari cocktails and alcoholic jelly 'liqui-tabs'.

The event will also feature a Polaroid photobooth, and guests will be able to have their confessions printed onto a one-of-a-kind Dirty Laundry t-shirt as a memento from the night.

O'Shaughnessy said: "Dirty Laundry is a concept I have wanted to create for a long time and we have gone wild with this one, especially with our washing machine cocktail makers. I know Londoners and fans of our previous pop-ups are going to love this one."

Last week, Whirlpool announced plans to host a year-long brand experience in Westfield Stratford City.
