Cheil London, which was named WEP's lead creative agency last November, has confirmed that Now has taken over as the lead agency on the party's roster.

However, Cheil is still completing two more projects for WEP.

"We continue to work with Cheil on a project basis and have some exciting work in the pipeline," Catherine Riley, head of communications at WEP, confirmed. "They have supported us from the get-go and we are very grateful for their ongoing support for the work of the Women's Equality Party."

While Cheil has been working for WEP on a pro-bono basis, Now will work with the party on a retained basis.

A spokeswoman told Campaign that Now was not selected following a creative pitch but instead after a series of chemistry meetings the party had with several agencies.

"After lots of conversations with lots of agencies, I have found there to be a brilliant and productive chemistry with Now," Riley said.

The Women’s Equality Party was founded in 2015 by Sandi Toksvig and former journalist Catherine Mayer. The party believes: "Equality is better for everyone" and its objectives include securing equal pay and an equal health system, fair representation of women in politics and media, equal parenting and education opportunities and ending violence against women.

One of Now's first projects will be to support the party’s campaign in the Liverpool City Region mayoral race, where their candidate Tabitha Morton is the only woman in the race.
