Work Club lands Coca-Cola digital brief

Coca-Cola has appointed Work Club to its agency roster, following a three-way pitch against undisclosed agencies.

The soft drinks giant has briefed Work Club to develop a pan-European digital communications strategy and creative concepts for its Uefa Euro 2008 football tournament sponsorship, to be held in Switzerland and Austria next summer.

The appointment is the first for Work Club, which was founded in July by Andy Sandoz and Paddy Griffith, respectively the former executive director and planning director at Agency Republic, and Martin Brooks, the former Zulu chief executive.

Work Club joins a roster of agencies that includes glue London, AKQA, Mother and VCCP.

Coca-Cola has strong ties with football sponsorship in the UK, where the Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney is a brand ambassador for Coke Zero.
