The World: Almaty - JCDecaux buys stake in Kazakh outdoor company

JCDecaux has acquired a 50 per cent stake in RTS Perekrestok, a Kazakhstan-based outdoor advertising company, with a view to capitalising on the economic growth of outdoor advertising in Russia and Asia.

The deal will see RTS Perekrestok, which runs 730 bus shelters in 14 Kazakh cities, including Almaty and Astana, renamed RTS Decaux.

Jean-Francois Decaux, the chairman of the board and co-chief executive of JCDecaux, said: "Cities such as Almaty and Astana are already implementing urban regeneration plans. The timing is right to introduce our street furniture with our partner RTS."
