The World: Amsterdam - Carat gets Tommy Hilfiger European media role

Tommy Hilfiger's EUR20 million pan-European media business has been awarded to Carat.

The Aegis agency won the account following a final shoot-out against the incumbent, Initiative.

Carat will now work with White Communications, which will continue to handle Hilfiger's media in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Avery Baker, the senior vice-president of marketing and communications at Tommy Hilfiger, said: "Carat's experience and flexibility was ideally suited to the specific nature of Tommy Hilfiger's media requirements."

He went on to say that the agency's strength in fashion capitals such as Milan and Paris was key to its success in the pitch.
