The World: Ankara - Publicis Groupe buys stakes in four Turkish shops

Publicis Groupe has extended its reach in Turkey, taking a majority stake in the Turkish communications and ad agencies Yorum, Allmedia, Bold and Zone.

Publicis and Yorum have worked together since 1992, sharing the Renault client Yorum has run since the agency was founded in 1981. It also handles Garnier, Coca-Cola, Nestle and Whirlpool.

Allmedia, a media planning and buying agency, will team up with Starcom Mediavest to create Starcom Allmedia. Bold, a direct marketing agency, will become part of the Publicis Dialog network, while Zone, a consultancy and PR agency, will become part of the Publicis Consultants string.

Maurice Levy, the chairman and chief executive of Publicis Groupe, said: "Turkey is an important country for us. Its growing economy holds considerable potential."
