The World: Austin Dell fined $4m for 'false' financing promotion

Dell is to pay $4 million in penalties and restitution for "fraudulent and deceptive business practices".

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo accused Dell of "scamming consumers across New York State", after it advertised "no-interest" and "no-payment" financing. It was found that even consumers with high credit scores were denied the deals.

Last year, the New York Supreme Court sustained Cuomo's allegations, leading to the settlement.
