The World: Bangkok - Diageo hands Thai media duties to Starcom

Diageo has appointed Starcom as its new media planning and buying agency in Thailand, following a pitch against Initiative and Mindshare, the incumbent on the estimated US$4 million account.

Starcom has been handed a one-year contract by the multinational drinks company, and will oversee brands such as Benmore, Smirnoff and Johnnie Walker.

Diageo is the leading importer and distributor of premium wines and spirits in Thailand, with whisky imports alone worth more than US$460 million.
