The World: Bangkok - Leo Burnett beats six to Tesco Lotus business

Leo Burnett has won the creative account for Tesco Lotus, the Thai arm of the UK supermarket giant, following a seven-way pitch.

The agency beat McCann Erickson, Ogilvy & Mather, Euro RSCG, BBDO and the local shops Next Steps and Agent A to secure the business. It will now be responsible for planning an integrated campaign that incorporates TV, press, CRM, PR and promotional activities.

News of the appointment comes soon after Tesco Lotus appointed OMD to handle its media account, following a pitch against Mindshare.

The brand is set to inject around $200 million of investment into its Thai operations, in a bid to improve its presence in the Asian market.
