The World: Beijing - HSBC announces $70m China marcoms review

HSBC is reviewing its $70 million marketing communication programme in China - the world's fastest-growing banking market.

The initiative by the world's second-largest bank is believed to have been prompted by Team HSBC, the WPP agency collective that has managed HSBC's global marketing and advertising since 2004.

HSBC's creative agency, JWT, its direct specialist, RMG Connect, and its media buyer, Group M, will work with marketing consultants and will scrutinise how the budget is divided between agencies and how it is split between different channels.
