The World: Beijing - Milk scare boosts adspend by imported brands

A tainted-milk scandal has caused major Chinese domestic brands to freeze ad campaigns, while imported milk-powder brands have increased adspend.

The major exception to the halt in advertising is Yili, which has taken out full-page ads to reassure customers. However, the Yili spokesman Liu Guoliang, coach of China's table tennis team, has said he will withdraw his endorsement of Yili milk following the scandal.
