The World: Beijing - MindShare out as Starcom wins China Telecom

China Telecom has awarded its national media planning and buying account to Starcom Beijing, replacing its incumbent, MindShare.

The Group M agency is understood to have retained the provincial TV part of the account, which bills an estimated $21 million.

China Telecom is one of the four major telecommunications groups in China, along with CNC, China Unicom and China Mobile.

Starcom will begin working on the account at the beginning of next month. The partnership is due to last until the end of 2009.
