The World: Beijing - WPP appoints Song chairman for Greater China

TB Song (pictured), the current Ogilvy & Mather Greater China chairman, has been appointed the part-time chairman of WPP Greater China.

His responsibilities will include helping to improve relationships with government and other stakeholders, and advising on acquisition activity that falls outside the remit of the local operating companies. He will also work to attract and retain talent, while nurturing local clients.

The move will also see WPP's London-based business development manager, Scott Spirit, relocate to Shanghai. Reporting directly to Song, he will become the network's full-time strategy manager for China.
