The World: Boston - Arnold lays off 40 and enforces agency-wide pay cuts

Arnold has cut 40 employees from its Boston workforce and enforced across-the-board pay cuts in its three primary offices in reaction to the current economic downturn.

The job cuts, which amount to around 7 per cent of its workforce, will only affect the agency's Boston headquarters, with no lay-offs expected in its Virginia or New York offices.

Arnold has said that it will attempt to mitigate the impact of the salary reductions and job cuts by awarding "performance bonuses" to both remaining staff members and those being laid off, with the funds coming from its 2008 profits.
