The World: Boston - Arnold lays off 50 staff at Boston headquarters

Arnold has cut 50 employees from its Boston headquarters, amounting to around 8 per cent of the office's staff.

Support and creative staff were mainly affected by the reductions, which were enforced in order to help the agency get through the expected harsh business climate over the next 12 months.

Arnold's offices in New York and Virginia are not expected to suffer similar cutbacks.

This year, the agency picked up the $70 million Carnival Cruises account, adding the business to a client list that includes Volvo and the American Legacy Foundation.
