The World: Boston - Omnicom's GSD&M loses $110m Chili's business

Omnicom has been dealt a blow by the US restaurant chain Chili's, which is switching its $110 million account out of the group's GSD&M agency in Austin, Texas.

The decision ends a relationship stretching back two decades and follows a prolonged sales slump. The chain has also split with its marketing chief, Ken Thewes.

The departure of Chili's completes a double-whammy for GSD&M, which recently lost part of Wal-Mart's $570 million account.

Chili's, which is owned by the casual dining restaurant group Brinker International, has suffered a dismal sequence of financial results.
