The World: Charlotte - Wachovia reduces shortlist down to final three

Wachovia Corp. has reduced the shortlist for its $145 million creative and media account to three agencies.

Young & Rubicam, Ogilvy & Mather and Merkley & Partners are all still contending for the business, according to a representative from the bank.

Lowe, which pitched with the other three agencies, failed to get through to the next round.

Wachovia is planning to select the winning agency by late September or early October.

The winning agency will replace Winston-Salem, N.C, the incumbent for traditional creative and media duties, and Carat, which currently handles interactive creative and media duties.
