The World: Chennai - MPG wins Hyundai mobile phone account

Media Planning Group has been appointed to help Hyundai enter the lucrative Indian mobile phone handset market.

The Havas-owned media network will handle the planning and buying on a host of assignments as Hyundai rolls out around 20 handset models over the next three months.

MPG beat off competition from four other unnamed networks.

The Hyundai creative account has been handed to Core, which is owned by the WPP network Contract Advertising.

India's mobile phone market is expected to comprise 20 million users by March 2005.
