The World: Chicago - Berlin Cameron wins Heineken's creative account

New York's Berlin Cameron United has won Heineken's US creative assignment after Wieden & Kennedy, its rival for the business, withdrew from the pitch.

Berlin Cameron, led by its chairman, Andy Berlin, handled the $55 million launch of Heineken Premium Light last year. Heineken said that it expected to increase the spend behind it for the year to $70 million.

Wieden & Kennedy withdrew because of what it claimed was a difference in strategic direction with the client.

Ken Kunze, Heineken USA's chief marketing officer, cited Berlin Cameron's "deep understanding of the Heineken brand" as one of the main reasons for the appointment.
