The World: Chicago - Energy BBDO scoops $18m Illinois Lottery account

Energy BBDO has picked up the $18 million creative advertising account for the Illinois Lottery.

The agency won the business following a pitch against JWT Chicago and MARC USA.

The Chicago independent agency RJ Dale had been the incumbent on the account since June 2004.

The win is the first for Energy BBDO under the new chief executive, Dan Fietsam, who joined the agency last summer from Publicis in the West.

Sara Cummins, the marketing director at the Illinois Lottery, said: "Each agency brought innovative ideas to the table, but we found Energy BBDO to be best suited to the Lottery's needs."
