The World: Chicago - JWT closes Chicago office to focus on successes

JWT is closing its Chicago office in a bid to concentrate more closely on its more successful Atlanta and Toronto operations.

The agency's Chicago base, which first opened in 1891, has been experiencing trouble since 2007 when Kraft Foods, its biggest client, moved all of its business out of the shop.

The loss resulted in the departure of 25 per cent of the office's staff, including the president, Ros King, and the chief creative officer, Graham Woodhall. The remaining pieces of business at the Chicago outfit, including the Nestle ice-cream brands, will switch to JWT's New York headquarters.
