The World: Chicago - OSI restaurant chain consolidates $90m media

The parent company of the Outback Steakhouse and Carraba's Italian restaurant chains has called a "winner-takes-all" pitch for its $90 million-plus media planning and buying accounts.

The OSI Restaurant Partners business is currently split between the Havas-owned Media Planning Group, which plans and buys national media, and the independent agency Doner, which looks after local spot buying. MPG is said to be discussing whether or not it will defend the business.

The creative account, handled by Publicis Groupe's Kaplan Thaler Group in New York, is unaffected by the review.

Catherine Benison, the president of Select Resources International, which is handling the review, said the company was looking to consolidate its business into one agency.
