The World: Chicago - Wrigley hands global accounts to DDB and BBDO

Wrigley, the chewing-gum and snack food company, has handed more than $200 million in billings to the Omnicom agencies DDB and BBDO.

BBDO picks up global duties on Eclipse, Orbit Extra and Winterfresh, as well as Doublemint in China. It also gets US responsibility for 5, a gum launching this year, and Altoids. Andrew Robertson, the BBDO Worldwide chief executive, said: "We have long dreamt of opening up in new markets."

DDB will have global responsibility for Hubba Bubba and Juicy Fruit, as well as Lifesavers in the US.

Leo Burnett and Grey have been dropped from Wrigley's global roster.
