The World: Colombo - Leo Burnett Sri Lanka joins aid effort

Leo Burnett Sri Lanka has put in place a programme whereby every member of the agency will participate in the aid effort in the stricken country following the Asian tsunami disaster.

Each member of staff has been assigned a family in Kosgoda, a fishing village with which the agency has historical connections. The Burnett staff have been charged with helping their assigned family in the search for missing relatives, funeral and burial arrangements, and the purchase of essential medical supplies.

Publicis Groupe, the owner of Leo Burnett, has pledged $1 million to the aid effort.
