The World: Delhi - Wieden readies Indian office after Nokia global win

Wieden & Kennedy is to open an office in Delhi following the US-based network's capture of Nokia's global mobile phones business.

Although the Nokia business will be run out of Wieden's London agency, Dave Luhr, the network's global chief executive, said the soon-to-open Indian operation had been "an important part of our pitch".

He added: "Because of the importance of the market today and in the future, this is a great opportunity for us."

The Delhi office has the potential to service other Wieden clients such as Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, Starbucks and Nike. But Luhr insisted: "Our first priority is servicing Nokia there."
