The World: Detroit - DaimlerChrysler cuts lead to BBDO redundancies

BBDO is cutting almost 200 staff (11 per cent of its workforce) from its Detroit office.

The layoffs will mainly be taken from the BBDO office, but some will also come from its sister companies PHD and Organic.

The job cuts are a reaction to cost-cutting by the agency's core client, DaimlerChrysler. The agency is also set to move some of the account's creative work to its New York office, giving David Lubars (pictured), the chief creative director, more control of the account.

The agency's Detroit office handles the Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep brands.
