World: Detroit - Del Rivero Messianu wins $50m Hyundai business

Hyundai Motor America has awarded Del Rivero Messianu DDB its $50 million Hispanic advertising account.

The agency picked up the business following a four-way pitch against the Houston-based independent Lopez Negrete Communications, the New York independent Ole, and Bromley Communications, America's largest Hispanic agency, 49 per cent owned by the Publicis Groupe.

The incumbent was the Omnicom-owned Dieste Harmel & Partners, which did not defend the account.

The new agency will create national campaigns for forthcoming product launches as well as handling Hyundai's regional dealer advertising in predominantly Hispanic neighbourhoods.
