The World: Detroit - US Treasury hands $67m to Chrysler for ad blitz

The US Treasury's automotive industry taskforce has given Chrysler just half the $134 million that it asked for to produce a nine-week advertising and marketing campaign designed to remind consumers that it is still open for business.

The car manufacturer is launching TV spots, created by Omnicom Group's BBDO, that focus on the way Chrysler is working through the recession.

The taskforce approved $67 million for the advertising blitz.
