The World: Dublin - McConnells' media arm wins EUR17m Allied Irish media

MCM, the media planning arm of McConnells Advertising, has been reappointed to handle media duties on the EUR17 million Allied Irish Bank account.

The agency retained the business following a four-way pitch against a list of undisclosed agencies.

The bank is expected to increase its adspend this year after picking up the sponsorship of the Ryder Cup golf tournament, which will be held in Ireland later in the year.

The win gives a boost to McConnells, which recently lost the EUR8 million creative account for the National Lottery. Media was handed to Carat, while the creative went to DDFH&B, WPP's JWT shop in Dublin.
