The World: Hamburg - Scholz nets $170m Vodafone brand comms brief

Vodafone has awarded Scholz & Friends its $170 million German brand communications account following a pitch against a WPP collaboration, which included the incumbent agency, JWT.

Scholz & Friends is an independent network that has an affiliation with Lowe Worldwide. It will now be responsible for creating a summer campaign that promotes the fact that Vodafone has become the first integrated telecommunications provider in Germany to offer "mobile communications, fixed network, internet and data services solutions".

News of the appointment came a couple of days after Vodafone moved its global brand strategy duties from Bartle Bogle Hegarty to WPP.
