The company, which offers financial services across the Asia-Pacific region, has approached a number of agencies with a view to holding a pitch for the business in the early part of next year.
The successful agency will work closely with M&C Saatchi and Leo Burnett, after AIA appointed the agencies to handle its advertising business earlier this year.
AIA is keen to create a series of campaigns to promote the company as an Asia-only operation, by shaking off its association with its US parent company, AIG.
