It will be the first time the network has hired a senior planner in the region.
Chang has been handed the role by the Greater China chief executive, Wei Wei Chen, who heralded the move as a positive step in strengthening the network in the region. Chen said: "We have not promoted our strategic planning tools loudly in this market, and we really need to start promoting the brand in China."
The company has also appointed Fred Tong as the executive creative director for Shanghai. His role will also involve supporting the Beijing and Guangzhou offices.
