The World: Irvine - David Murphy quits as Y&R managing partner

David Murphy, the managing partner at Young & Rubicam in Irvine California, is leaving the agency without disclosing a destination.

A management team, consisting of Anthony Di Biase, the executive creative director, Dan Olsen, the managing director, and Linda Denton, the senior vice-president, will take control of the agency until a replacement is found.

Murphy moved to the agency in 1999 from Aetna Healthcare, where he was the vice-president and director of marketing communications. Before that he worked at Ogilvy & Mather for 16 years.

Despite recently winning the Hilton Hotels creative account, in 2005 the agency lost Jaguar and Sony Electronics.
