The World: Jakarta - Lowe scoops Nestle $39m confectionery business

Nestle has awarded its Indonesian confectionery business to Lowe after a three-way pitch involving JWT and the local incumbent Macs909.

The assignment will include brands such as Kit-Kat, Polo and Fox's, Nestle's biggest-selling confectionery products in the country.

Nestle spends an estimated $39 million in Indonesia, competing with the market leader, Cadbury Schweppes, and the local manufacturer Mayora Indah.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's Bank NISP is reviewing its $2.5 million creative account, won by Young & Rubicam less than a year ago. Y&R will defend the business against Euro RSCG, Lowe and Fortune, a local agency.
